Design Studio

Design

A collaborative team workshop to gain alignment on product vision and design direction by first diverging and then converging on designs via sketching. Design Studios should include the broader, cross-functional team and often lead with a research review and user scenario mapping. They then follow with a series of design charettes (or sketching rounds) that get increasingly more detailed and collaborative. Outputs from the workshop include sketches that help inform upcoming design work such as wireframes.

Example

This example is from a Design Studio I co-facilitated with another UX Designer at The Sandbox Agency for a large web application project. Participants were from a wide variety of departments, and the Studio took place over two consecutive half-days.
