Content Audit and Inventory

Discovery

Assess inventory of current site or product to gain understanding, spot duplication, and track the progress of content that needs to be redesigned

Example

This example is for a content inventory for a resource library. I typically customize content inventories depending upon project needs, but often they capture data for each piece of content such as: Name, URL, File Format (PDF, DOCX, JPG…), Author, Location, Meta Description, Keywords, Categories/Tags, Applicable Dates (created, updated), and more. A true audit also determines what content should be removed, revised, or is missing altogether.

Example

This example is for a content outline for website pages that were in a story format. The outline helped to structure the story and provided contextual information around each section.
